Kodavere parish folk costume belt “Blue-black-white” (L.P no. 28)

Traditional pattern belt, woven on looms.
The pattern is the letter of the Kodavere parish.
The belt is a very important part of Estonian folk costumes, of course for a direct reason, because then the skirt does not fall, but the old people say that the pattern belt also has healing and protective powers.
The length of the belt is 300 cm, width 5.5 cm.
The material is 100% wool, the yarn for the belt is 100% linen, the warp is 100% linen.
NB: generally pattern belts are not washed, but if there is an urgent need, then only in lukewarm water, with a detergent for wool.
