Always wash your scarf by hand, in lukewarm water, in which a detergent intended for wool has been previously dissolved. Avoid products with a bleaching effect! This will prevent the scarf from aging and turning into felt. Wash by pressing, not rubbing. Rather, gently move the scarf back and forth in the bowl, slightly squeezing. This will prevent the delicate lace from being damaged. After washing, gently squeeze the scarf to dry. Wringing will damage the lace. It is most convenient to place the wet scarf between a folded terry towel, roll it up, and then press firmly to catch the excess water in the linen.
If there is no frame, lay the wet scarf on a flat surface (e.g. on a carpet covered with white linen, bed, sofa), mark the size by tightening the corners of the scarf with pins. Make sure the pins are stainless. To make the work easier, pass white sewing thread behind the pins securing the corners of the scarf to create a conditional rectangle, which you can use to secure it. Next, pin the centers of the wet scarf on both sides and ends. Always pin the tassels parallel on both sides of the scarf so that the pattern stretches evenly. Continue pinning the tassels from the spaces between the needles until all the tassels are tightened.
